Editorial review

The Doctor Web Lab receives hundreds of thousands of new malware every day. Every day about tens of thousands of entries are added to Dr.Web virus databases. These are threats known to virus researchers, whose neutralization mechanisms are already developed. However, the greatest danger lies in the threats that specialists have not yet analyzed. Dr.Web Katana provides protection against threats designed to be undetectable by classic heuristic analysis or signature-based detection. This malware has not yet been analyzed by the Laboratory and is not listed in the virus database at the time of its intrusion into the system. These are Trojan-Extortionists (Encoders), malware performing web injection, Trojan Lockers, as well as threats exploiting zero-day vulnerabilities.
